The main idea is to create multiple spaces to break up the long, narrow room. As an Italian restaurant, the design draws inspiration from traditional architectural elements such as the Piazza, Portico, and Loggia.
At the entrance, the Bar area features a central rounded counter, with wall panelling and a ceiling design incorporating alternating hexagons and diamonds. Both the ceiling and wall panels, made from acoustic absorption materials, integrate mirrors and the lighting system.
The heart of the restaurant is the Piazza, a rectangular space with a high, flat ceiling, designed to evoke the feeling of an outdoor square. It accommodates 60 seats.
Surrounding the Piazza is the Portico, which includes bench seating for informal dining on one side and, like a traditional piazza with its shops, the kitchen and pizza oven area on the other
Between the Piazza and the Bar, the porch area extends into the Loggia, a private hall enclosed on three sides by glass. Featuring vaulted ceilings and columns, the Loggia provides a more intimate dining experience.
The restroom area has been optimized with a shared washbasin area, separate Ladies’ and Gents’ facilities, a disabled-accessible toilet, and an additional staff toilet.
This layout allows the toilets to remain accessible even when the restaurant is closed—such as in the morning—by sealing off the Piazza. The Loggia can then function as a separate space for seated breakfasts or business meetings.
Like Concept A, the space is divided into distinct areas: the Bar at the entrance (which has the same configuration as per Option A), a Private Hall, an Open hall, and a Pizzeria.
The Private Hall is centrally located, with access from both sides, allowing for flexible configurations—from a single large hall to individual dining niches for a more intimate experience. The layout can be adjusted using a track-railing system with movable polycarbonate glazing panels, which are stronger, lighter, and more cost-effective than glass.
Instead of using arches, vaulted ceilings, and columns, Concept B defines spaces through flooring and ceiling patterns, featuring a mix of hexagons and diamonds. In the private hall, both the floor and ceiling feature a more intricate, refined design.
Moving into the open hall, the design simplifies, while the pizzeria adopts the most minimalistic style, fostering a more informal dining atmosphere with a mix of benches and tables.
The restroom solution is identical to Concept A, maintaining the same level of flexibility. The doors separating the morning area (Bar + Private Hall) from the rest of the space allow for partial operation—such as opening only for breakfast service while keeping the main dining area closed.
